Services

Narrative Athletics works with athletes, clubs, and sports organizations to define identity, sharpen positioning, and build clear direction.

Our work focuses on turning identity into positioning, and positioning into real-world opportunity across sport.

Athlete Positioning

The primary service is the Athlete Positioning Sprint, a three-month program for active athletes who want to build something beyond performance during their career, not after it ends.

Most athletes have performance covered. What is often missing is a clear answer to who they are outside of their sport, and what that means for sponsorship, business, and the transition that comes eventually. The Sprint builds that answer in a structured way, over time, through daily use of the Narrative Athletics App.

€ 900,- Single payment.

The Sprint runs twelve weeks and produces four deliverables at fixed points.

Week 2 — Brand and Identity Foundation

A document that maps who you are based on your Sprint Intake answers and two weeks of daily Narrative Anchor sessions in the app. The foundation everything else builds on.

Week 4 — Opportunity Map

A structured overview of the opportunities available to you based on your identity, including a concrete business idea developed specifically for your profile.

Week 7 — Media Kit

A document for brands, companies and potential partners who want to understand who you are and what direction you are headed. Built to open conversations, not close deals.

Week 11 — Sprint Report and Activation Checklist

A complete overview of the Sprint: what happened, what shifted, what the data shows, and the concrete steps to execute in the first 30 to 60 days after the program ends.

Week 12 is a monitoring week. No new deliverable. A check-in to make sure the activation is on track before the Sprint closes.

Athletes who complete the Sprint can continue with Narrative Consultancy, a premium sports business partnership on a subscription basis. You keep using the app, track progress, and Narrative Athletics stays involved to guide and expand what was built during the Sprint. Pricing is finalized in conversation.

In Practice

The first Sprint client is a collegiate basketball player currently active in Florida (U.S.). He came in with a sense of what he wanted to build after sport but no structured way of articulating it or connecting it to what he was doing during his career.

Over the Sprint his identity was mapped in detail, three opportunity areas were identified, a Media Kit was built, and the program ended with a concrete Activation Checklist tied to one primary direction he had decided to pursue. He is now in the post-Sprint phase working through those steps.

Narrative Strategy for Clubs and Organizations

The primary service for clubs and organizations is the Narrative Positioning Review.

Most clubs have an identity felt internally that does not fully travel externally. There is a gap between what the club believes it stands for and what actually lands with players, sponsors, media and audiences. The Review maps that gap, names it precisely, and provides a concrete direction for closing it.

The analysis is grounded in quantitative data from the club's digital channels across a full season, qualitative observation of existing communication, and competitive benchmarking against comparable clubs. The output is a structured document built for the people inside the organization responsible for direction, not just for communications teams.

Work in this area can be conducted in English, Spanish, and Dutch.

What the review covers

A Narrative Positioning Review is a structured document that includes:

  • A central narrative observation: the single most important thing the club needs to understand about how its identity is currently landing

  • Quantitative analysis of digital performance across the club's active platforms over a defined period

  • A channel-by-channel communication audit

  • Competitive benchmarking against two or three reference clubs in the same market or competition

  • Three concrete strategic directions with a recommended sequence for implementation

Club Case

Professional Basketball Club — EuroLeague

A historic European basketball club with a genuine and powerful identity, deeply connected to its city and community. The work focused on mapping the gap between the identity felt inside the club and the identity communicated externally, supported by a full quantitative analysis of the club's digital performance across five platforms over a complete season.

The result was an 18-page Narrative Positioning Review covering the central observation, quantitative evidence, channel-by-channel analysis, a content audit, competitive benchmarking, and three concrete strategic directions with a recommended sequence for implementation.

Narrative Consultancy

Narrative Consultancy is the follow-on service for athletes who have completed the Athlete Positioning Sprint and clubs who have completed a Narrative Positioning Review.

The Sprint and the Review both end with a concrete direction and a set of next steps. Narrative Consultancy is what keeps that direction on track. You continue using the Narrative Athletics App to monitor progress and maintain alignment, and Narrative Athletics stays involved to guide decisions, refine positioning as circumstances change, and expand on what was built during the initial engagement.

This is not a retainer for ongoing content or communications work. It is a strategic partnership for clients who want to keep building rather than applying a one-time output on their own.

Narrative Consultancy is available on a subscription basis. Pricing is discussed in conversation and depends on the scope of the engagement.

How We Work

Every engagement starts in the same place: identity. Not content, not visibility, not partnerships. Who the athlete or organization actually is, beyond performance and surface-level perception.

From there, the work moves through positioning, narrative, and activation, each step building on the one before it. The process is structured, but it is not rigid. What matters is that the direction that emerges is genuine, specific, and sustainable over time.

Narrative Consultancy keeps that foundation active over time. This sequencing is intentional. Without clarity on identity and positioning, every opportunity starts from scratch. With it, the right things compound.

The work is grounded in direct engagement, qualitative observation, and where relevant, quantitative analysis of existing communication and digital performance. The output is always concrete: a document, a review, a defined next step, or ongoing strategic guidance, never just a conversation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Sprint only for basketball players?

No. The method applies to any serious athlete. The current case experience and the founder's background are in basketball, but the Sprint is not sport-specific.

Can I do the Sprint during a season?

Yes. The daily Anchor takes three minutes and is designed around a training and competition schedule. The Sprint is built for active athletes.

How long does a Narrative Positioning Review take?

That depends on the scope of the club's digital presence and the depth of benchmarking required. The timeline and scope are defined at the start of each engagement.

What do I need to participate in the Sprint?

A device that runs the app and a commitment to the daily Narrative Anchor check-in. The check-in takes three minutes. Consistency matters because the deliverables are built on the data the app collects over time.

What language is the app available in?

English, Spanish and Dutch.

Who is Narrative Consultancy for?

Athletes who have completed the Sprint and clubs who have completed a Review. It is not available as a standalone service. The foundation needs to exist before there is anything to maintain and build on.

No. Narrative Athletics is a positioning firm. The work is structured, document-driven and strategic. It is not a coaching relationship and does not provide psychological support.

What does € 900,- include?

All four deliverables, access to the app for the full twelve weeks, and direct communication with Kiran Jones throughout the program. No additional fees.

Who is the Narrative Positioning Review for?

Professional clubs, academies, federations and leagues that want to understand the gap between their internal identity and how it actually lands externally, and get a concrete direction for closing it. The Review is most effective when there is someone inside the organization responsible for strategic direction, not just communications output.
