“Sport builds identity. Narrative defines what comes next.”
About Narrative Athletics
Narrative Athletics was founded on a simple belief: an athlete’s story should not be defined only by performance.
For many athletes, sport becomes more than competition. Over time it becomes structure, community, and identity. Practices, games, teammates, travel, wins, and losses slowly shape how athletes experience the world and understand themselves.
For years, life follows the rhythm of the game.
But the reality of sport is that the game eventually changes.
For most athletes there is no retirement ceremony or clear final chapter. Instead, there is a gradual shift. Seasons end, opportunities evolve, priorities change. One day the schedule that once defined everyday life no longer exists in the same way.
And in that moment many athletes realize something deeper: the game did not only shape their career. It shaped their identity. Narrative Athletics was created at the intersection of that experience.
Founded by Kiran Jones, a former semi-professional basketball player with a background in marketing communications, sports law, and sports business management, the studio brings together athlete experience, and strategic perspective to support athletes, clubs, and sports organizations in navigating the modern sports landscape.
Today, sport exists within a complex ecosystem of media, brands, global audiences, and commercial partnerships. Performance still matters, but identity, narrative, and positioning increasingly shape how athletes and organizations are understood.
Narrative Athletics works with athletes and organizations to define identity, sharpen positioning, and build clear direction that can translate into real-world opportunity over time.
By combining athlete experience, strategic positioning, narrative direction, and sports business strategy, the studio helps define identity, shape narrative, and build meaningful connections between athletes, organizations, and partners.
Because in modern sport, performance alone is no longer enough. What defines athletes and organizations over time is how they are understood, how they are positioned, and what they build beyond the game.
Our Perspective
Narrative Athletics operates at the intersection of athlete identity, storytelling, and strategic positioning.
In modern sport, performance creates visibility, but visibility alone does not create understanding. Identity, positioning, and narrative determine how athletes and organizations are perceived, and what opportunities become available over time.
Narrative Athletics works with athletes, clubs, and sports organizations to bring clarity to that intersection, helping define identity, sharpen positioning, and build direction that leads to aligned and credible opportunities.
What this means in practice
Narrative Athletics works with athletes, clubs, and organizations to:
• define clear narrative identities
• strengthen positioning within the sports ecosystem
• translate performance into long-term opportunity
• build partnerships aligned with values and strategy
Work with Narrative Athletics
Narrative Athletics works with athletes, clubs, and sports organizations who believe that identity, narrative, and positioning play a meaningful role in the future of sport.
Working with Narrative Athletics is a structured process focused on clarity, positioning, and direction. The work begins by defining identity, moves into sharpening positioning and narrative, and continues into application, refinement, and opportunity mapping. The goal is not just to understand who you are, but to build a clear direction that can be applied consistently and lead to real-world progress over time. This is not a one-off exercise, but a process designed to create lasting clarity and momentum.
